Smart Home - Home Automation
The Builder contacted us as they wanted to set up a home automation system in his huge apartment building, where the home owners can manage and control their homes via Mobile Phone or Web App.
Challenge
The main challenge in this project was client wanted to make it a scalable solution that he could use in multiple homes, The client wanted to make it secure and the ability to control via Mobile/ Web app along with voice assistant like Google Assistant and Alexa. There need to be different permission level for example the child can control the lights but cant control the thermostat.
Solution
As per the client’s demand, we came you with the technology stack and shared it with the client we decided to go with nRF52840 as its secure and comes up with HomeAutomation Kit along with setting up BLE Mesh and Z-WAVE. For the web interface we choose and thingsboard as it can manage the data from different sensors quite efficiently, and can manage different profiles and permissions efficiently. For mobile App, we use and React Native
Result
We gave the client codes and ship him the PCBs. We assisted in setting up the Z-WAVE and BLE MESH through video call. Then we integrated the Mobile & Web apps. The client loves it, Home Owners adore it. After a few months of successful usage, we added the support for the thermostat as well remotely.
